NOTE: In the search the same author may appear in different ways depending on how it was recorded at the time of publication of the article.

  • How to calculate with the ISI-Web of Knowledge (from 1975)

    • – On the ISI Web of Knowledge in the box next to Author enter the surname and initial of first name followed by * (eg: Red M *)

    – If you need to select a range of years

    – Click on Search to start the search
    – REFINE RESULTS: use the options on the left to guide the search properly (ie: Authors, Years, …) and launch it again with REFINE

    – For opening page click in the right corner on “Create Citation Report”
    – Verify the accuracy of the articles eliminating a check in the “checkboks” those not recognized as their own and link boxes next to the GO range, the years

    – The next page will show the graphs of statistics and to the right the ‘H-Index

  • How to calculate with SCOPUS (since 1996)

    • – Select page Scopus SEARCH AUTHORS
    – Complete the fields as well as the author indicated and launch the search SEARCH
    – The following page contains a list of similar AUTHORS
    – Scroll through the list and select all records that match the author sought
    – Click on VIEW CITATION OVERVIEW
    – The following page on the right h-index and link to the graph
    – If these items were not relevant, you can delete them with the check mark. Click on X DELETE to get a new H-Index
